This is what I came up with to over come knee discomfort caused by the bar on the center console

If i may chime in, you could also use the padding that comes on bicycle handle bars, it's that dark gray foam cylindrical shape it fits over the top tube of the handle bar. Or Home Depot black a.c. coil padding same thing. I think you'll have a better match in color and less obvious then the wool. Just my 2 cents. Good idea
