Default Spare Key FOB

Has anyone who has both key fobs in use between yourself and a spouse, where one primarally uses the car, and the other drives another car, and the spare fob intermittently fails to unlock/lock the doors.. then once you manually unlock the doors, and start the car up, it seems to work again... This doesnt seem normal. The car is an '06 bought in august, the batteries seem good, when it works it works well, but intermittently fails...

Any ideas.

Paul

We have the same sort of situation with the keys. But, have never had any problems with the intermittent failures. You may want to mention it to the dealership and have them check next time you are in for servicing - that sounds like it could be covered under the waranty.

I had the same situation with my car. It progressively got worse and I had the dealer look at it when it was time for service. They ended up having to replace the whole FOB. Make sure you bring all of the keys with you to the dealer since they'll have to program all of them when one is replaced.

Cheers!
