Thinking about getting my car chipped but got an insurance quote with the change and the quote is mad!!! trouble is i can't change my policy. Is it worth getting it done and not informing my insurer. what would be the implications if i did this????

don't tell your insurance or the dealer, don't tell anybody but us, you can get the chip done and have to programs, one stock and chipped, so if you have to take it to the dealer you can switch it back, nobody will ever know if you have the chip.

 

How does that work?? I've heard it runs off your cruise control buttons....... but I don't have cruise control!!

 

Well you could do that..but dont forget, say if you were involved in an accident or your car is stolen and later recovered, the insurance companies check the car before paying out and you could potentially lose out as the Insurance company can refuse to pay.
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone?

 

giac has a box that you plug into the obd port and you can switch between the two programs, and i think it is apr who uses the cruise to switch between the programs.
