Default weird sound

2007 audi a3 2.0t dsg
I have this weird sound under partial throttle / moderate acceleration coming from right side of engine compartment / glove box ever since i got the car. i've done some mods(REVO stage I, FORGE DV, Milltek Catback) hoping that thenew DV or programming mightget rid of the sound but has not.sounds like sand is being blown around in a container.does not occur on hard / light acceleration. dealerssay its ok, but i havntheard any other2.0t'smake thatsound.anybody else haveexperienced thissound? is this the sound of the dv recirculating air? its faint butits been bothering me for quite a while. how can i get rid of it?

I have the Forge DV too, and not ever heard that sound. Do you still have the OEM air box? Maybe you actually have some sand in the housing before the filter and it's blowing around? A long shot, but worth a check. Also, do you have a boost gauge? It would be good to know what boost you making, and if it has changed.

Cheers!

hey chef

thanks for your reply. do you have an a3 dsg? it could be different if you're running manual. anyways might go ahead and check the airbox. is that complicated or i just have to pop it open? another thing is I've heard it when test driving an 07 2.0t dsg s-line but its almost like a short blow-off sound, mine is wayyyy longer. anyways i'll keep looking for the problem. and boost guage wise im waiting for awe to send it in. its been several months already. what should i be boosting at?
