There is a lot of testosterone being thrown her ladies …
What is next, dropping the pants and compared who has the biggest????
The guy was a little exited, I can understand that, the R32 is a nice car and being a special edition in the US, it has a cool factor to it.
Comparing a VW and Audi is a little bit like comparing a Nissan to an Infiniti, they are basically the same car but they really are for different people and that is fine. There are definitely some differences and important ones but again the reason is because the clientele is usually a different breed (not better or worse, I say different).
So anyway, congratulations cshecks for the R32 but you may want to double check some facts before posting this thread in an Audi forum high on mods…
My 2 euro cents for all it is worth, and euros right now are worth more than your dollar…

Seriously, thanks for the kind of back up. Appreciated.

One of the main reasons I like/recommend the A3 2.0T series is the relative few factory car recalls or service notes. The A4 has had a lot more recalls or service notes observed online. Also you got the first year of the Audi A4 2.0 I believe which increases your chances of minor defects that are eliminated/corrected with following years. I have only really seen some early opinions of R32, no full reviews with milage, so again this is like getting the first year of a model. I purposely skipped 2006 and waited for 2007 for the A3 2.0T figuring that a number of minor improvements would be incorporated. The brand new 2008 R32 build from VW doesn't present you with a oppportunity to see how the car will hold up. Hopefully everything will be a lot better then earlier R32's.
It should be a fun car for you.

Yeah, I had the same problem with my 2005.5 A4 2.0T, bought it brand new and had it back to the dealership 5 times in about 7 months.....4 of those times for factory defects/electrical issues....I am praying that does not happen with the VW.

Thanks for being cool, I appreciate you not attacking me like a 14 year old fanboy. I am very excited about my car..................like i said, if it is a giant piece of crap i will be the first to tell you all, but if it is as sweet as i think it will be, you will hear about that as well : )

Oh come now, A3’s are not for people who are more mature physically but more mature mentally. Ask anyone here what’s the difference between driving a VW versus an Audi. Driving a VW is saving a few bucks because you think your getting a better deal, driving an Audi is driving the real deal!

Probably a good take, John; I'm old, and sometimes forget what it's like to have so much of your ego wrapped up in a car. I do love my A3 more every day, though, and I own a lot of cars.
Does show that AOA and VW marketing strategy hits pretty soldily in some areas; GTI and R32 for the youngsters and boy racers, A3's for us older car freaks ( and the less excitable youngers).

When I say boy racers, I don't really mean the Fast and Furious 17year old morons;I mean those who prefer some racer statement in their street cars, even if it doesn't make it better for it's intended street use. Big tips, flashy wheels, large spoiler, and arrest -me colors are part of this.
When I say youngsters, I mean just about anybody here besides me, though I guess I'm talking under 35.
I'm 55, and been a Euro car freak since I was 9. I've owned and worked on a lot of interesting machinery. I race Porsche 911's( though not real seriously) to get my speed fix.
I prefer my street cars to be 'under the radar', the better to drive quickly and efficiently. I'd own an R32 or GTI in a heartbeat, but the A3 is more my style. Stealthy. Nicer interior (hope this comment doesn't start another sh*tstorm). Is this automotive maturity, or an older guy thing? Matter of semantics, I'd guess.
I sometimes have difficulty with automotive empathy . For example, I have DSG - I like it a lot, and prefer it for daily use. I'm also a hardcore manual tranny guy, and I have the good fortune to own 6 cars with MT (including another A3) that I can drive when my left leg gets bored. If I only had one car though, I'd probably own the manual, and I need to remember this when guys start touting the manual over the DSG.
CShecks, best of luck with your R32; I didn't mean to denigrate the car in any way, and as I said, I'd love to have one. I'll bet that the new version is the bomb - An A3 3.2 with an edge. I came very close to buying my buddy's R32 to use as a daily, but then this damned A3 came along.

LoL... Riiiiggght... So I assume your thesis was, what is a numbnut? Please, even from the start of this post, it is obvious that you are a "youngster". It's funny how you bring up the topic of maturity then make a post with imature name calling. We will quit flaming you, if you quit reading and posting in this forum with your BS. This is not about ego, this is about you making stupid comments with no facts or anything to back up your statement. Then when someone brings out the facts, you simply ignore it and resort to whining about getting flamed.
