Winter Rims & Tires

Winter Rims & Tires
Hi All.
I am new to the forum and owner of a 2006 Black A3 2.0T, 6 speed which I love.
I live in New England (NH to be exact) and want to get steel rims and snow tires for the winter.
Does anyone have any recommendations and the best place to get them? I am thinking Nokian's but no clue where to get steel rims and what size.
Thanks!

Hi Bagheera
Welcome to the forum. Regarding winter tire/wheel set, tirerack has always been good to me for tires (and some decent packages). Alternatively, check out Hartmann Wheels (via their website or achtuning.com) for good audi specific packages (or Ronal wheels for inexpensive true wheels). I've used Dunlop Wintersport M3s (which I think have been replaced by a new version this year) and think they're the best blend of performance and winter driving I've seen. I think some others might be stronger for pure snow driving and vice versa, but a great balance in these. As far as steel rims go, you could get some cheap wheels and maintain a much better look (check out the $99 special RS6 looking rims on tirerack). anyway you slice it, i think you're going to need at least a +42mm offset.

I have the same car in a 2007 version (Black, 2.0T, 6 speed). I am in Hampton, NH. What town are you in?
And, of course I love mine too!

Occassionally you will also see mine parked at MAX BMW Motorcycles in North Hampton as I occassionally work there to feed my BMW Motorcycle crack habit...I have a 2003 Black R1150GS.
Black is faster you know.

Decided. It ain't cheap, but what the hell. It will be a blast to drive in the snow.
F2 - 5 spoke alloy rims 16"

I am travelling until the end of Nov so that is when I will get them put on.
