A3 3.2L chip or other mods?
Hi everyone!
I have a 2006 A3 3.2L and am looking for some modifications to increase power. I love the car, but, would love it even more with a little extra kick!
Does anybody know if there is a chip available or being developed? Also, are there any other recommendations - cold air intake, turbo (?), etc...?

You're kinda SOL for a bit with that engine I believe. You're not going to get a big increase unless you add a forced induction unit like a turbo or supercharger. You're best bet is a CAI and Exhaust with a chip, but you'll only gain 15-20hp if you're very lucky. The best engine to mod on the A3 is the 2.0T. Just a chip with that engine gets the power of the 3.2+.
I know that there was a company looking for a 3.2 to prototype for a CAI. Search down the posts and see if they're still looking.
Cheers!

Thanks Chef!
I was a bit disappointed when I started to research my options. I thought someone out there might have an inside line on this whole chip situation since that would be the easiest upgrade. I still love the car and will wait patiently in the hope that someday a chip will emerge to turn this great fast car into a great REALLY fast car.
I didn't look into it further, but AEM is in CA and I'm in upstate NY - I don't know if they would be interested in working on my car. I'll send him an email though, if nothing else he could keep me updated on what they develop.

Sorry about AEM. I didn't look to see where you were located.
Problem is that a naturally aspirated engine has a limitation on mods unless you do some serious modifications. You'll gain a little from a chip from the timing advance and such, but not the big boost the turbo engines receive.
Hope you're still enjoying your sweet ride. I wish my car had Quattro.
Cheers!
