Default wipers quit

i have a 07 A3 2.0t and my windshield wipers just quit working. The rear wiper works, the sprayer nozzells work and all the fuses are good. When you move the switch up to the on positions nothing happens no sound from the motors or anything. I have noticed over the past few months that when I shut my car off the wipers will bump down as if resetting themselves. Also when have had about 4 days of 110 degree weather and im wondering if that could have had anything to do with it.
Any other suggestions that I can do or things that I can check would greatly be appreciated because the closest Audi dealer is 2 hrs away.

Thanks

Ok update... took the car to the dealership and they said that the windshield motor is fried. They are trying to blame my HID kit. Has anybody ever heard of a hid kit back surging the system and could anybody explain how the wipers and the headlights are conected.

Thanks

this is a known issue ---- that aftermarket HID kits blow the wiper motor. many many people have experienced the same thing. some people have discovered that it's okay as long as you don't turn on the wipers until after the HID's are warmed up, but i wouldn't want to risk it. that's a few hundred $'s to replace the wiper motors.

some have had luck with the "well-done" and VVME HID kits, but i wouldn't want to risk it ....
