Someone claimed they did about four or five months ago, then vanished. I'm going to try and find it!

User 'twinblus4' made the claim then decided to hang out on the ricer pages instead.

flow > temp.

The temp in under the hood still has air flowing through it and is going to be only so much hotter than outside air. Even if the diff is 30-50*, its going to come out maybe 5* or so differnt. This difference will then be negated by the ic before making it to the tb. The only gains made by the a intake is when the stock is restrictive and the new intake takes in more than enough cfm.
this cannot be said any better...turbo cars see no gain from a CAI its all for looks and sound or unless you are running a BT and need the extra air
ask the a3 guys with 2.0t they have dyno charts that evoms and k & n give em around 10hp

it is due to the increase in flow not tempurature. There stock intakes are super restrictive.

+1 just comparing the after-market intake with the stock intake box sitting here at my feet. It pretty easy to see just how restrictive the stock box.. "could" or "would be" compared to a more free flowing CAI set up

*just my $0.02

*****oh and I did get a check engine light from the audi gods. Running rich! haha. P0172. I have gotten that one before.... What can I say my car likes gas [8D]

not true at all the stock airbox is good for up to 300hp so its not that restrictive
