*PICS* Welded cat. New IC. CAI installed.
That intake is pretty. Youre going to need a HELL of a heat shield to make it anywhere near as efficient as the stock airbox was though. Also, cincy, dont you mean the temps at the intake are PRE ic???
Nope, its on the TB. That would make it post ic. Also having the filter suck in air that is 20* hotter isnt going to make any bit of differnce after it gets compressed and superheated by the turbo. Either way, the pre-ic temps will be withen degrees of each other.
Well im not sure about pre or post IC. But I do know I vaged the stock intake (K&N box mod.) at 145 F. So it is cooler eather way. What I didnt show is the shield from the IC used as a scoop under the right side. Funneling air from under the car and from stock funnel location.

Well. I honestly dont care. Stock = 145f CAI = 125f. It was cooler today, I data streamd and graphed Intake temps . Reving the motor the hotest it got was 129F. lowest was 119F. Thats pretty damn good considering Super heated/compressed air. Runs cooler then alot of NA cars stock.
