'02 1.8T turbo question
Ok so I know I'll probably get flamed for it but I did a search and couldn't find a definite answere. So my question is, what turbo came stock on my '02 A4 1.8T. Is it a K03 or a K03s?

its still technically a ko3, but we all call it a ko3s.

i would actually say its a hairdryer not a turbo but hey, we all have our perceptions
car should have come with a k04-015 like some people upgrade too but if u want power, go with a GTRS/GT28 series or real power some people are even going with gt3071r now

the k04-15 and the k03 in the b6's are practically the same, hence the reason why you have 1+ software available

indeed they are, just slightly larger opening (like .25 i think) and different turbines.... but the k04 makes a few (not many) more hp but if you compare the graphs

it makes the power curve last longer... (of course its still not a BT but much better) someone else had a graph showing a 1+, 1+ and DSMIC, and k04 with dsmic and the k04 held about 30 ft lbs torque more throughout the powerband

the only differnce between a ko4 and a ko3 is the 1-2mm increase on the turbine. The ko3s uses a larger inducer, compressor inlet, and a more efficient 8blade compressor vs the ko3 12 blade.
