Try to change your air filter first, if it didn’t help check sensor that is before throttle body. How’s your “check engine” light?
I had same problem with my 2000 A4 and had to replace that sensor few month ago

i had my throttle body cleaned and reset and it worked for about a day, and than went back to doing the same thing. it doesnt affect the speed of the car, just throttle response... if your in neutral does the car rev slower at some times than other times?
Nope, in Neutral the car acts normal. Also, when shifting w/ the tiptronic it not nearly as bad as it is when Auto.

Ever since I put that new battery in the car kind of stutters when you hit the gas pedal gently from the get go. Itwill also do it if you are traveliing say 45 mph, let off the gas and hit the gas gently. It will not do this if you get in the gas hard.

Thoughts? Do I need to reset the Trottle Body?
You must connect a VAG-COM and re-adapt the throttle body after battery removal, TB disconnect, ECM disconnect, Etc........

Default Throttle body adaptation

You must hook up VAG-Com to adapt Throttle Body position sensor.
