Hmmm leaning hard now for the 2.8. I wrench myself for pretty much everything. Which one is easier/has more room to work on? Thanks for the responses so far.
depends on what goes wrong on the car. both engines are in there pretty tight fitting in the bay. but like i said before, the 2.8 should ("should") be a bit more reliable. You can repair little things here and there, but jobs like the timing belt will require you to take apart the front of the car. Basically, both cars are reliable, depending on how well they are maintained. But if you don't want to mod too much and you want some decent power stock, then go for the 2.8

If you like wood grain trim, hardend/cracked leather seats, an extra heavy nose, power seats that break, very limited ability to modify, not getting laid, and chrome around your windows, then get a 2.8.
Jk....... Sorta [8D]

Ha!
So having a fwd 150hp tip with fake leather gets you laid? I get nothing but compliments about my luxury interior. Sorry theres no substitute to real leather, and they don't crack or fade if you maintain them. No entry luxury car should have a handcrank seat levers, thats just ridiculous IMO.

Hah. It was a joke. You had to go make it personal.Do you really think Im going to legitimately participate in another 1.8 VS 2.8 thread? Carry on though if it makes you feel better According to my calculations, and based on history, this thread will be locked by high noon tomorrow anyways ROFL.
