i think u should get the 2.8 as the 207 torque is enough to do the towing job.
I would bet that not only does a chipped 1.8t make more tq, but makes it sooner than the 2.8 or 3.0 do. Stock is < 2k rpms and with a chip its just over 2k rpms.
