RE: 1.8T BCS boost controller
Disclaimer:
I’ve owned 2 of the 1.8T BCS’s from Split Second. The first one was installed in our Jetta 3 years ago with a K&N filter and aftermarket exhaust. The other went into a GTI last summer with just a K&N filter and stock exhaust. I’m also the guy Nasty is considering buying the BCS from…
Perhaps the increase in performance from the Jetta/GTI’s stock 150HP would make my experience with this product more impressive, however, the increase in performance for the price is undeniable. You must use premium fuel and, with the exception of having to replace the turbo bypass valve twice in 3 years on the Jetta, the little 1.8 has held up wonderfully (and I drive the Jetta hard).
Has anyone on this forum actually experienced this product first hand in an Audi Quattro? If not, please don’t speculate. BTW, here are 2 review that both say that the stock ECU automatically compensates fuel mapping at the higher boost: http://www.europeancarweb.com/tech/0309ec_prodrev/
