just purchased an '03 A4 1.8T auto for my wife. the idle seems a bit high compared to what i'm used to. it also seems to idle a little rough, but stable with no signs if waivering up and down. the tach is reading about 900 RPM. my current vehicle idles out @ approx. 600 RPM and is very smooth. am i just feeling the effects of a small bore 4 banger or is somtehing wrong here?

Thats normal. When I have my chipped ECU in, the idle is 1000.

 

i used to idle at 1200
