Bad or lose ground/power connection. Check your wiring setup to make sure its right and if you bought a sony amp, well, you cant polish crap.

well the ground is connected to the top part of my trunk. i wasnt sure on what part of the battery to hook up to so i hooked up to the part with the small screw. im guessing this is the one to do it, not sure. the remote wire i hooked to the 75x and then i tried it on the remote wire from the back of the head unit. and still the same thing. is my ground maybe bad? maybe i should try another spot?

Well the power should be on the + side i believe its even got a red wire connected to it. The ground should be mounted to something more solid like a frame or seatbelt. (be sure to remove all paint before connecting for solid contact to fresh metal)
