Default 1997 A4 1.8T

I recently bought a 1997 A4 1.8T, and everything was going fine until I got it back from the dealer today. When I turned on my radio, it said SAFE on the display and I couldn't get it to work. I checked my manual, but it refered me to a seperate "radio manual" which I never recieved from my previous owner. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I GET MY RADIO TO WORK? (I'm sorry if I sound ignorant, but this my first car, let alone my first Audi)

Thanks!

yeah, tear that sucker out and replace it with something aftermarket. Get some better sound. but yeah, just spend the $50 at the dealer, its just a one time thing and its worth it, less hassle. If you bought the car from a dealer though, try to talk them into 'hooking you up' as a 'measure of good faith' that your car is as good as i'm sure they assured you it was/is. Good luck.

wait so your radio worked until you took it home from the audi dealer, or just a regular car dealer?

if the audi dealership tripped your radio then you should be able to get them to reset it for you for free. but rather than having them "fix" it, you should just call them and tell them to look up your radio code (4-digit code that unlocks it), that way if you ever trip it yourself later you'll have the code handy. put it in your manual.
