1998 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro
Hey everyone I am kinda new at this whole forum thing. All I know is that I love my audi lol. I want to spruce it up. I have a 1998 A4 1.8T Quattro all stock parts. What should I start with as far as putting performance parts in? I would like to maybe start under the hood first, maybe with a air intake kit but I am having a hard time finding the parts I would need. Can anyone help me out? Thanks

I would ask you to use the search function...but that is down right now. So........... The easiest mod you can do that will give you the most bang for your buck is getting a chip. It will run you around 500 installed but will get you 50 hp and 60+ torque. I just did it to my 98 1.8qtip and it is like driving an all new car. You also need to get a DV with that too, and that could range from 70-150. When the search function works....just search the topic and you will find a myriad of info. Exhaust is good too....but that can be pricey and for not that many gains.
As for the intake.....carbino makes a real good one, or you can get a K&N. The only thing with the k&n is that you will need to make a heat shield, to slow down the heat soak. I have the k&n and it has been working fine for me. K&N kit = 55 bucks, Carbino = nearly 400.00

look at getting a chip such as APR/Oettinger, GIAC.., worth making look better, wheels, lower it abit. I got some nice 17" RS4 wheels on mine. I also put an RS4 grill and mirrors. But of course make sure it's maintained, make sure recalls are done.

Awsome do you know the model number of the air intake you have in your audi? Also, you just have a heat shield made a metal shop or should I go to a euro dealer and have them look at making one? Thanks for all the advice
