Default New head unit, colors match pretty well.

I love it all, except for the blue volume **** and source button, I'm looking into switching out that light for a red one to complete the look. Also, the dash kit fit kind of funky, but it doesn't look too bad.

Sorry for the noisey pics, but you can get an idea of the color.

Kyle

BTW, it's a JVC Arsenal ar780

nice, yea i had trouble with the dash kit aswell, stupid thing. for some resone my radio is on a tilt so i had to put some plastic underneath it, and put my dash kit in and broke one of the clips, so its a little buckled right now. but you cant tell unless your realy trying to point it out.
i wish someone soldhead units that would be a direct fit eh, instead of using the dash kit.

i am looking at getting a 2006 a3 if i can figure out how to intall an aftermarket deck. Basically i want mp3 cd compatibility and a possible aux input. How complicated was it to connect all the speaker, etc wires to the new deck? Do the the volume/next song buttons on the steering wheel still work? I installed a deck on my old integra a few years back, which ended up being straight forward, but from reading other postings, doing the same on the A3 seems more complicated.

Thanks,

tom

crutchfield was actually the first place I went, but they don't have anything for the A3 in terms of dash kit and wire harness. I called them up and they told me I needed to get it custom done. Any other suggestions?

go to the dealer for the dash insert its simpler and in most cases ( cheaper ) then fit the audio/head unit you want which are standard size,
dont know why Audi made their head unit bigger than standard units but that's life
