Default 1999 A4 1.8T

So guy wants $6500.00

Car has 96,000 miles

Ac does not work. said the (belt is no good)
The Computer Display on the dash board does not work. (Any guess on what this is?) How much would it cost to repair it.
Car was in accident (replaced stock bumper with S4 bumper)
Claims he does not know when T-belt & water pump where done.

Yet he puts in springs, apr chip & exhuast.

I offer $5000.00 considering the problems it has. THe fact he does not know about tbelt or water pump worries me also.

If it was me, I'd leave it... I don't like taking chances on cars!

Leave it. Does not sound like it is worth the money. Even at $5500 it sounds like you will have to dump at least another grand just to get the timing belt, water pump, tensioner, pulley, ac belt, and dash going again.

If you are mechanicaly inclined, the timing belt job including all belts, tensioner, thermostat, waterpump would only cost you around $350 in parts. I would find out how long it has been chipped. It has no doubt been "beated" on a little. I think $5,500 would be worth it. It is a good looking car though. One thing to keep in mind, there is a button under the windshield wiper "switch/arm" that turns the display on the dash on or off. If it does work, the pixles in the display will likely be messed up. If you need to replace it that would be around $500 and not worth it. If you arent mechanicaly inclined, at that mileage, id skip on it.

Its probably not a bad belt causing the ac to not work. More likly cause is a bad compressor. Which can run over a thousand bucks depending on the compressor.

I would skip, this car has probably been abused.
