Default 1999 A4 Alarm Probs

I have been having an annoying problem with my stock alarm recently. The indicators dont flash all the time when I lock the car yet flash when I unlock. Also the alarm intemintley keeps going off causing a nuisance to my neighbourhood.
Can anybody help please?

Regards
Gary

Do you ever leave your windows down a bit? I know the wind can set off the interior motion detectors... but as to why it doesn't always flash, I'm not sure -- something definately seems wrong there. Have you vag'd the car?

EDIT: just saw this is your first post... and wasn't sure if you'd know what I meant by vag'd... vag-comm is the scanning too we use to diagnose our cars. I know the car can throw codes pertaining to the alarm system, that won't trigger a CEL (check engine light).

Suppose I will have to head to a dealership then and pay the money to let them have a look. It is getting annoying though. And getting more frequent. Thanks for help anyway.
