i was hoping you would say that...my first gear synchro was already bad when i bought my car, and i thought it was kinda fishy that i had to have the whole tranny replaced..

4 grand for the tranny & driveshaft...and some other random suspension parts

I've noticed my car is doing this too. Not really a squeeling noise its more of a light rubbing/grinding noise in my case, I have only been driving manual for 4 months now so that could always be it.

No unusual RPM activity and the shifts are still smooth so I'm not too worried.

I would get it checked out because yesterday I think I blew the tranny, I believe this squeek noise to the 2nd gear had something to do with it

It seems like your description (squeak) was coming from within the synchromesh.
