I have a 1998 A4 2.8 L 5 speed. Is it normal for me to be doing 2.5 RPM at 60 mph or is overdrive not on?

 

sounds pretty close, i think im more toward 70-75 at those revs, you can test if od is on by putting the car in 4th, if the revs go up, then ur o/d was on, if they stay the same, then you arent goin into 5th... good luck

 

my 98 2.8 5spd does 3k rpm at 70 mph so sounds about right

 

Ah, oh well. That sucks.
I dont do much interstate driving anyway so its okay.

yea, def when you have an exhaust like mine...no midmuffler Remus...you get a constant drone at those cruising speeds
