I have a 2000 a4 1.8t quattro I am looking for more HP and I want to know what is better, getting a chip or doing a flash to the ecu. EveryoneI talk to says flash and some guys I know that work for AUDI saw flash also. What say you?

giac is more aggressive and yes the ecu has to come out.

 

The flash is for the newer cars that support flash loading. I believe the cutoff year is 2001 where they started with the flash load. I have a 99.5 and I have to get a chip and not just a flash load.

 

at evoms.com they say they can flash load a 2000 or atleast they plug a computer into my ecu and reprogram it, that is flashing correct??

 

You need either a GIAC or APR....

 

I got flashed GIAC but ratings on APR aren't as good.
