with enough money you can make any car fast, the german in general are old school, suspension over engine. the 2.8 is really just for taking corners hard and having fun in a parking lot or adverse conditions. no striaghtline performance. although if you remove the speed limiter you can easily hit 150mph

you could try this website www.ststurbo.com they make a universal back mounted turbo system for any car all you have to do is fabricate piping and buy your self a intercooler it comes with everything else you would need, also including about 12 feet of lines for oil feed and everything else, its what i have and i have a 1996 Audi A4 2.8L V6 12V, with low compression Pistons because my compression was 10.0:1 trust me it works good as long as you mount it right and install everything right you dont lose pressure or anything it works as good as if it was mounted in the front.

Also, "JET" makes a performance chip for the 1996 Audi A4 2.8L V6 AWD and FWD i also have that in my car, they will allow you to customize anything you want with that chip all you have to do is fill out papers and your set man, im pusing around 280HP until i get a bigger turbo i plan on pushing around 15PSI which will bump me up alittle higher, the only interals i have is Rods and Pistons and my engine is handling this power well i havent had any problems yet except for my front mount broke =/ lol

the 2.8 isnt that bad at all, put some coil overs on it and have fun in the corners, where the 1.8 are waiting for there turbos to spool! Jk guys the 2.8 isreliableand still fun, add some nitrous if you want the engine will not blow up like is common perception!

I saw a 1.8t get beat numerous times this past weekend with a few mods vrs. a normal rsx not s type which had intake exhaust and a chip... I have a 2.8 with a few things doneto it and the rsx is not even close... The 2.8 has enough power and upgradability it just takes a lot of money to get it done... I'm building my 2001 2.8 now and it's costing quite a bit... But in the end i'll have a very unique non-turbo'd Audi

the VW VR6 is a completely different engine to the 2.8 V6 used in the A4 (among other cars). I would think that precious few parts are interchangeable between the two motors.
