2000 A4 1.8t modding help
Ok I have a 2000 A4 1.8t FWD with 142,000 miles and am about to replace the OE clutch due to it being worn bad and the OE turbo because I want something with more power. I don't want anything ridiculously fast just a daily driver with some get up when I need it(and a minimal budget)
There are some k04 turbos(or knockoffs) on Ebay with mixed reviews on the board so I may just send mine off to a reputable rebuilder if anyone can recomend one.
The ECU I don't really care everyone seems to be chipping for around the same price
Read about someone around the boards that can polish the exhaust manifold
What other things should I be looking into?
Can I use a new OE clutch kit with a lighter flywheel with this setup?
Any reccomendations would be much appreciated along with links and or prices

Send your K03 into G-popshop.com and have them rebuild it into a k04 spec turbo. Cost: $425 +$25s/h
get your ECU chipped from a GIAC dealer or AWEtuning.com cost will be $600
Full exhaust - go custom - maybe 300-400
other options
FMIC - Ebay DIY would be fine - unless you really want to spend a $1k
I would suggest getting a beefier clutch just to have fun with.

I dont think anyone from here has any experience with a gpopshop k03/k04 spec turbo... I would personally wait for a first hand review on it before going that route. Im just wondering how it reacts with k04 specific chips compared to a straight from the factory k04... It shouldnt be different, but it would be nice to get a review from someones personal experience.
After k04,
get a catback exhaust, I would go with a borla or miltek, as its stainless all the way back and mandrel bent. (wont ever rust)
test pipe if you dont have emissions

dont go oem, get a stage 2-3 clutch so you dont burn up the oem
That should do it power wise, I would want handling and braking upgrades before/at same time as well. (coilovers, drilled rotors, better pads)

The more I keep reading the more I have questions. I have the ATW engine is there any advantage or disadvantage to it?
Can I run a test pipe on it without a cel coming on?
An which chip should I run with it to ignore the cel (if possible)
