2000 A4 Timing belt/kit?
Can someone explain how to install the timing belt kit with all belts and waterpump for the b5 engine without having to remove the front bumper? Or is it worth while to take the bumber off?
Also, I have a tiptronic, I have heard that the snub mount should not be replaced on it, is that true?
ALSO, sometimes changing the transmision fluid can be bad because it takes out the filings which are used as some sort of insulation between the worn gears. Is that true? I have 70k miles. Should it be done? Can I do this myself pretty easily?

what you need to do is replace the tensioner and water pump. not the snub mount. snub mount is an extra and is good to replace because you already got the bumper off and its easy.
and no i dont think u can install the timing belt kit without removing the bumper. i think it can be set to service position but im not sure on that.

If the engine has 70k miles on it, im going to replace the belt as well. I realize that the snub mount is an aftermarket or "extra" thing, and i have heard that by replacing it, when the car shifts, it creates vibrations, or the auto tranny isnt tough enough for it. Thanks!
Anyone with a tip tranny have a snub?

I have experienced it...
2.8 Auto:
Did the timing belt change myself. After 80k miles the old snub mount was all worn out and brittle/hard. Shifts were butter smooth after a new snub.
