I'd like to drive a non DBW car just to compare. There are a few times when I think it might have a delay, but it could just be the engine not wanting to spin up fast enough.

The difference is phenomanal in my book. My 99.5 1.8t is alot more responsive then the dbw 2.8 I drove. At first when I pressed the pedal I thought the tranny was slipping but then I remebers it was DBW.

I asked this before but I didn't get any responses about it. Do the chips do anything to help with the delay or change anything about the electronic throttle? I wonder how linear the electronic throttle is, or under what conditions would the throttle open or close more then usual.

no the chip wont change the delay its not something you can fix unless you do a non DBW conversion

Yeah the delay isnt on purpose, it just takes that split second for the signal to reach the solenoid on the throttle bodie from the pedal.

There is a k03 Sport turbo but, Audi did not put a k03 sport in the '00 or '01 models. Just a regular old k03. I have an 01 with sport package...the stock k03 is sitting in the garage and it has the same part number as any other k03.

AFAIk the 170hp engines have it, which is the cause of the 20 extra hp bump.
