Hey I thought all B5 A4 1.8t's were 150hp 5 speeds, but my cosin who's interested in getting one and tuning it said in 2001 they upped the hp to 170 and a 6 speed for the B5. At first I thought they did this in 99 but they didnt. Then I thought they waited for the new body style for the 170hp 6 speed. Oh well whats the hp on a manual 01 A4 1. 8t.

 

Only the 2001 B5's had 170hp but they were still a 5speed

 

i think the only reason this happened is that the fuel is different. bc in earlier years i believe they used the 4 bar fpr and in the 01 they r using 5 bar. prob diff ecu tunning to im sure.

 

2001 A4 have a 4bar fuel reg

 

2001 added variable valve timing, lower compression (9.5:1 to 9.3:1) and increased boost.

 

damn i didnt think they did all that but i have a 01 and it came with a 5 bar
