Default 2001 A4

I'm getting ready to buy a 2001 A4 1.8T and I'm wondering in regards to parts and maintenance, will it be that bad? Taking into account that I'm a highschool student with a fairly limited budget.

any maintenence you'll have to do is going to cost ya if you don't have a warranty. how many miles does it have on it? has the timing belt been replaced already?

Audi's parts cost more than Japanese car parts/American car parts. (I think this applies to most European models/makers).

Like everyone else said, timing belt is a killer for Audis since they can go up to $1000.
Good luck on the purchase.
