I have a 2001 A4 and need help with my radio i disconnected the battery and now the radio keeps saying "SAFE" i pulled the radio out and got the AUZ num and vin# i know i need a code to unlock it can anybody help me or know how to get with out having to refer to the dealer?

 

If you're lucky, the radio manual is still in the glove box. My manual has the code (on a sticker) and instructions on how to enter it.

 

If you can't find the code call your dealer, or one where you know the car has been serviced at. Whether it's the previous owner or you, and if you are lucky the radio code will be in the service dept system so it's always there for the techs should they need it. For security reasons they might not give the code out even if it's in their system. If you prove you own the car then you might be able to get the code if they let you fax over proof of ownership. Otherwise the dealer has to get that code through Audi and there is a charge for that.
