2002 A4 Brake booster question
Has anyone had problems with water in the brake booster. My dealer just replaced mine at 18K miles, he said the booster was FULL of water. It was causing an un-drivable condition, obviously. How could water get in there?
Any help would be appreciated.

The brake peddle was extremely hard sometimes, other times it would fade 3/4 to the floor then grab, very unpredictable. Impossible to drive in traffic!
The dealer claims to have fixed the problem by replacing the booster (servo). They said it was FULL of water. I'm just very concerned the problem might happen again, as the car is being drivin by a 17 year old new driver.
Where could the water have come from? Has anyone ever heard of this problem before?
Thanks!
Dave

Not sure how water could have gotten in there. Obviously there is not connection between the vacuum lines and the coolant. I suppose what he means by "full" could be nothing more than a bit of condensation.
Either way, nothing the driver did could cause the booster to fail.
