Default 2002 A4 Sludge buildup

I have a 2002 A4 that has sludge build up. I get engine oil pressure warning signal at high speeds due to it. My dealer is asking for $3500 to clean out the engine. I am wondering if I should do that, or if I should try using auto-rx or seafoam treatment? I have changed engine oil every 10k miles as audi prescribes and I will try to get Audi to take care of this under the extended warranty, but no idea how long that could take.

for 3500 you could buy a new motor and build it and turbo it almost....
at most you might want to do a cleaner(auto-rx/seafoam/trans fluid) if that doesn't exactly do it might need to clean your oil pick-up tube... or that might be part of the problem

i would think with you having these issues you are playing rulette with your motor

and changing your oil every 10k is why you are having issues, please tell me you at least are using a top quality oil..... but 10k oil changes are asking for trouble...... 3-6k tops

Do you have the 1.8t? That was a very common problem with those engines. Audi issued a letter extending the warranty to eight years from the in service date. I found a copy of the letter on autosafety.org. Hope this helps you.
