Default 2003 41000 miles and a Clutch Issue?

Hey fellas,
Has anyone had issues with their clutches on their 6 speeds? I am only at 41000 miles and it seems to be slipping. Is this normal? I punch the pedal maybe in third or forth and it runs up to about 5000 rpm and then down to 4000 or 4200 and back up again. Normal???

Thanks.

Well the car is at the dealer and a rep from Audi is coming to confirm that the clutch is bad. The dealership service tech guys say that's what the deal is. Bought the car used so I guess the previous owner was a hard driver or could it be just a bad clutch? Service manager says he has seen a couple of bad clutch issues at 20000 miles.

Just wanted to give an update.

Well after a week and a half of my car being in the shop I finally got it back. Turned out to be the clutch. I was told by the service writer that the Audi Rep had to check it out to confirm the issue which he did. Said to cover it under warranty, thank God. All the parts came in and another bump in the road. The fly wheel was blued and needed to be changed too. They had to get that part from down South which added another 2 days to the project, but still also covered under warranty. All said and done, got a new clutch and flywheel and new rear brakes all under warranty. Bought the car used last month with 41600 miles on it. Good thing it was still under warranty!!!

Excellent service from Matt at Sonnen Audi in Marin, CA.

Blue flywheel is usually a sign of abuse. Your lucky you got them to replace it under warrenty.
