2003 A4 TCU removal??? Hell??
Folks, the TCU on my car has gone bad, needs to be replaced. So now here's my situation, from a bunch of earlier posts got to know that the TCU is under the passenger side carpet. Removed the plastic moulding etc and I just couldn't get under the carpet. There's some real stiff sponge in there. Are there some specific steps to the removal of this carpet? Does the passenger seat need to be removed?
Since I didn't have success here, I turned my attention to the ECU (to see if the connections are ok, or if any fuses are blown) that's supposedly ( I don't have the damn repair manual) in the engine bay drivers side. There are 5 T-30 screws that hold the cover and why the hell did Audi put the 5th screw under the wiper assembly plastic??? I just couldn't get to it. So all in all no luck in fixing anything. Any ideas on how to proceed???
BTW I found this place http://www.transmissioncontrolunits.com/finditfast/ that sells TCU's hopefully they are reliable.
Thx -PGK
