2003 Audi A4 mechanical issues.
Hi, I'm in need of a reliable mechanic in the Denver area for my Audi, I just bought it over a week ago. I took it to someone who wants to charge me an arm and a leg for something completely different from what I need fixed. Thanks for your input...

IDK if you're going to find someone that can give you a suggestion as to a specific mechanic.. But I can tell you that in general German auto mechanics like to charge an arm and a leg because they typically deal with "higher end" customers in which money isn't really an issue.. They also like to push "preventative maintenance" on people because as a rule "wealthier" people don't mind spending the money so long as it saves them time..
I have 2 suggestions..
1) look in the phone book and call all the euro mechanics and ask for a quote on something considered "expensive" such as getting the timing belt replaced on your specific car.. Its a fairly common repair that they can easily give you a "general" quote on and it will give you a basis to compare labor pricing..
2) approach someone else who owned an Audi that you run into on the street and ask then where they take their vehicle.. Obviously you don't want to approach the business man with the Rolex watch..
