I am brand new to the Audi Forum and I am hoping someone in the Forum can help me. I own a 2004 Audi A4 3.0 Ultrasport with a 6-speed manual transmission and live in the Boston area. I need to replace the driver's side catalytic converter and am having a hard time finding a replacement for it at a reasonable price. According to my local Audi dealer there are none in the USA and it is a special order costing $1,200 upfront which is much more than I want to pay for just the part. I missed the 80K mile Federal Warranty cut-off date to replace it for nothing. I was able to get the passenger side catalytic converter replaced under the Federal warranty.
1. Does anyone know of a source for an after market driver's side catalytic converter for my car?
2. Does anyone know of a catalytic converter refurbisher in the Boston area?
3. Does anyone know of a used car part source for the catalytic converter that I need?
4. Does anyone know who makes the factory installed catalytic converter for my Audi that I need to replace?
