2006 A4 2.0T Brakes
Hey All! I need your expert opinions. My 2006 2.0t A4 has about 24k miles on it. The brakes squeak loudly when coming to gradual stop. I first took my car to the dealership, they casually looked at the brakes took the car for a test drive and determined that it was a little rust or a "burr" on the brake pad. His recommendation was to get the car going around 40mph and hit the brakes hard and that would rub the problem off the brake pad (not so hard to ABS). I have done that and it does not really work that well. Does anyone have any experience with this and if so could you loan me some advice.
I live in the northeast and there is salt on the roads, however I don't think that would be the only cause of this. The car is gorgeous but when I'm going down main st trying to stop I sound like a "f ' n" bus.
