From the day I took delivery of my A4 2.0T, I have heard a rattle under the front of the floorboards when starting the car cold. It lasts for only a second or two and then disappears.

When the car is started warm, the rattle isn't there.

I thought it was a skid plate or heat shield that was loose but wouldn't that rattle always regardless of whether or not the engine has warmed up?

Anyone ever experience this before? I only have 1200 miles on it.

 

I never noticed any rattling on mine, you might want to give the dealer's service dept a call and ask or stop by and have them take a look

 

Good luck. And don't let them turn you away with "There's nothing we can do," like they have with me and my exhaust leak. It's under warranty...be persistent if you need to. Just fair warning because most dealerships are resistant to that lately. I'm still dealing w/ my stuff and the metal sleeve that causes ultra-sports to leak in the exhaust.
