Hello:

Can someone tell me what they think is causing this sound ( ) in my 2013 Audi a4 with a 2.0 engine with 66k miles on it? The sounds start when I rev the engine near 3k rpm. Can it be fixed? Do I need a new engine? The car was not turned on for around 9 months because it was in an accident with a deer, so I had to repair the front end.

Really hard to tell form the video. I will give what I think it sounds like and it isn't good. Sounds like a connecting rod is going bad. That would require a new engine or a rebuild of the bottom have of the engine. There could be something else, but with that deep thumping sound tied to the engine revolutions I think it is a bad rod.
