So I was on the way home today and out of the blue, the ABS light and some other light (wasn't paying too much attention) were flashing on and off rapidly for about 4 seconds. The car beeped twice during this, and then nothing happened.

The warning lights stopped flashing, and my ABS still worked (checked to make sure I had brakes )

On that note, anyone have any ideas? If not, anyone around SD willing to lend a VAG-COM scan?

 

so the lights arnt on?
they came on then went off.
then they should have some stored codes
and they are retriveable.
there are SO many sensors in these cars. anything can tick them off

 

it was the brake light flashing with your abs light. You do need to have the car scanned. It seems to be a common problem this month though. Search abs light and flashing brake light you will find some answers

 

do you have traction control? if yes you probably lost it for a second due to road conditions and the light/beep was telling you, it was doing its job

 

..but I don't have traction control. I'm FWD..

It actually happened again driving home today, and the other light that's flashing with it is the brake light.

Know what my theory is? It's the brake pad wear sensors. The actual sensor has a loose connection somewhere and the bumps on the freeway set it back in place for a second. I do need to get some new pads, so could this be it?
