I've got a 2001.5 A4 1.8T Quattro, 5-spd.

Is there anything major in the 50k service that I can't do on my own? I can do plugs, oil change, filters, fluid checks, etc + general inspection (I can get on a lift too, but probably not for a really long time). But is there anything that big that gets done at this time? I don't really want to pay my mechanic big bucks to do basic stuff if I can do it on my own.

 

Nothing Major. do it yourself

 

If your car is not 4 years old have the dealer do it.

 

David, what minor stuff does it include then? I figure I will just do it next weekend if its not going to be a big deal.

CRAZYHAWK, I would, but I always thought that Audi doesn't honor their warranty for used car purchases. Not to mention I don't really like not having my car available to me.


Alright, I looked around my Hanes Manual, and compiled a list of things to do for the service:

-Change oil
-Change engine air filter
-Change cabin air filter
-Change spark plugs
-Change coolant
-Change brake fluid

-Inspect brakes
-Inspect exhaust
-Inspect suspension, steering, and driveaxle boots
-Inspect fuel system


Let me know if I missed anything big.

that's it. Make sure you use only G12 coolant and distilled water.
