I had my 60k done at a local Porsche/Audi performance shop for 350 bucks. They were really good guys too. Honest about everything. They were the ones that found I had bad CATS and MAF and directed me to the stealership because it was covered under Audis warranty and I wouldn't have to use my private warranty and spend the deductible. I thought it was a really good show of honesty. They could have done all the work themselves and charged me the deductible.

I didn't go to the sales department with the intent of them fixing it, I was there with the intention of making it known that I was having problems with the service and I needed to talk to a service manager.

Trust me, I would love to just have my dad deal with it, but the fact is, if they told him the CEL was nothing, he would say, "Okay, thanks for fixing my car". I want it fixed correctly, therefore I need to talk to them myself. It was too busy and we were too understaffed at work for me to take off early, so I will have to keep trying to leave early to get it done right, or wait till next monday because it will be my day off.

Tomorrow when I am on lunch break and the service department is open, I am going to call them up and schedule an after hours appt. to get it fixed.

I didn't get to go to the service department, but I managed to be able to come in at 10 instead of 8 for work, so I can drop by the service department. I also found out we have an OBDII scanner at work, so I ran the code on it.

P171 - Bank 1 too lean

I assume this is an 02 sensor problem? (They just replaced the 02 sensor in bank 1)

When he bought it, he said he would pay for regular maintinence as long as I don't mod it. Thats part of why I've been telling him to sell it so I have room for a new car that is all my own. Sure, I'll be paying for everything, but it gives me the independance to do whatever I want with it. Regardless, I'm still mad at him for wasting his money by taking it to the dealership.

On the bright side, however, I managed to get it all done and squared away today. Turns out it was the MAF. The tech told me it was because of my K&N and just told me to oil it less next time and to put a paper filter in when I bring it in for service. The service manager said he wouldn't warranty the work unless I told him I would take out the K&N. And since the service manager agreed that something was wrong with their work prior to starting, he promised it would be no charge. Even though it turned out to be my problem, they still fixed it.

All in all, the techs are nice, the service managers are sleezy even if they are good for hookups. I felt like the whole time the service manager was trying to 'sell' me another service. Probably because they know I am off warranty and would be better off taking it elsewhere.

They didn't get the car done till 10:30 or so, but my manager told me that 10:00 was just a rough estimate and that I can come it whenever the car is done. I made it in at 10:39 and still managed to pull about 8.25 hours.

So you oiled the filter or was it still the original K&N oil?
