Not so fast... Just purchased a 1998 A4T Quattro. Drove it home, and for the last 2 months it's been in the shop getting the tranny replaced (among about 100 other things). Almost an unbelievable story cause a "warranty company" is involved on the tranny.

1. Tranny dies on A4 after driving car home from purchase
2. Warranty company ships to repair facility a used tranny with 60K miles
3. Shop installs
4. It's BAD!
5. Warranty company ships another for installation
6. It's the WRONG ONE!
7. Warranty company is shipping the third replacement unit to be installed this week.

Yee Haw...

I had nightmares when I had a 1993 Mercedes 190E sportline auto trans...apparently, the trans went out twice. Before I bought it, then 3 months later. Only 129K miles
