A4 avant 130bhp 1.9tdi idle speed problem
Hi,
I am new to the forum and having problems with my car. The problem exhibits itself as two symptoms:
1. Random idle speed of 1100rpm (should be 950) happens once or twice a week.
2. No Turboboost ( only occurred once) turn ignition off/on resolves the problem.
Anybody any ideas of the problem, it sound like an engine sensor issue ??
thanks
JeffB

diesels are not my area but it could be the shock absorber on the fuel pump which regulates the idle,
check just below the throttle cable and you will see this little shock absorber which is connected to the throttle linkage as a stabilizer and some folk lean over the engine and snap the end off so it cant be adjusted or hold the throttle at idle, just a guess
