A4 Avant (non-Bose) sound upgrade
Hi guys,
I'm trying to add a sub to my wife's 1.8T sport Avant with std concert h/u and non-Bose.
I have been told that the rear speakers are powered by a small amplifier. On the saloon/sedan this amplifier is fixed to one of the speakers (the left hand one I believe). However, this is not the case on the Avant/estate. I didn't bother to take the door card off to check the speaker itself, but checked the wiring loom the goes into the door through the B pillar and it doesn't have the wires that should be going to this amplifier.
I am being told by my dealer that this model does not have an amplifier, and that only the Bose one's do - I do not believe this to be correct (Hey, even the dealers can be wrong from time to time).
My problem is, where the hell is this little circuit board mounted? I'm guessing it's in the luggage compartment somewhere, but where? I need to find this so that I can hi-jack the signal and remote wires for the mono amp I have mounted to power the sub.
Can someone PLEASE help??!!

i dont think your car has an amp so everything just goes back to the deck, I would tap a rear line out and solder in a set of female RCA plugs in so you can hook RCA cables up that way..... its your best bet
