A4 B5 HID problem
I bought some 6000k HID's to replace the yellowish ones that were in it. I put the new lamps in months ago, and now I am having problems. The left one started to turn off and/or flicker last week, by saturday it was out, and the right one shortly thereafter. Now I did touch the lamps with my fingers which I know your not suppose to do, could that have causes some of the problems? Everything is OEM except for the lamps. So now my wife is driving aorund with just the fog lights until the new lamps get here. Is there anythign I need to check? I hope that it is just the lamps. Thanks!
did you do a whole xenon conversion? ballasts, etc? if not, you probably just put in autozone "HID" bulbs into your projectors. i apoligize if i am wrong about you having true xenons, but from my experience, those cheap bulbs at the local auto store burn out quick. and usually touching the bulb applies to halogens.
if you didnt upgrade the ballasts then you def. need to because your stock ballast will only power 4300K lamps.
and touching the bulbs is a major mistake and is most likely your problem. the oil from your fingers causes hot spots on the glass and makes the bulbs burn out in a few days.

I knew I wasn't suppose to touch them, but I didn't know the OEM ballasts couldn't do higher than 4300k. If 6000k burnt them out in 6 mos or so, I wonder how long the new 8000k lamps I just bought will last. Where can I buy an upgraded ballast? Thanks you've been a lot of help.
To the other guy: C'mon I'm not a huge idiot, just a small one.
