Does anyone know how to make the washers stay in the up position? I am asking because someone backed into my card, and broke the cover off, which unfortunately broke one of the jets and the pins that hold the cover in place. I decided to get creative, constructed a sheet metal piece that fits well on the remaining pin, plus the jagged edge that remains on the other side. I need to attach it securely, so I need tohaveit up. I tried to turn the washer on and turn the engine off just as the headlight washer extends, but it did not work.

They wont stay up.

The headlight washers are activated by water pressure, that's why they wont stay up. They are spring loaded to close. You are probably going to need to pull the bumper cover to do what you are looking to do. Good Luck.

interesting ( the washers only lift when the lights are on ) so electronically activated I would think when the lights are on so if you switch the ignition off they might stay up but just a guess
