A4 - Loss of power when hot & partial MFI display
Hi
I have a 1998 A4 1.9Tdi SE. When the engine is hot, power seems to drop off quite a bit, to the extent that is downright sluggish! I have had the turbo and intercoller checked and all is fine. When cold however it goes as you would expect - plenty of power from 2 - 3.5k rpm. Anyone any ideas????
Also, the MFI display on the instrument cluster goes very feint after above an hour's use.
Anyone give me any clues??
Thanks a lot
Regards
Tony

The display problem is very common. Just about the only fix is to have the instrument cluster replaced.
Every engine has better performance in colder weather.
